Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account to use this site. We collect the following types of data:

• Usage data: pages visited, time on page, and navigation paths, collected via analytics software to understand how people use the site.
• Page views: the pages you open, recorded by this site itself against a random identifier kept in your browser and linked to your account when you are signed in, so we can count visitors and see which pages lead people to practise without depending on a third-party tool.
• Shared visitor count: our four sites (cognivy.io, matrixreasoningtest.com, numericalreasoningpractice.com and verbalreasoningpractice.com) keep one count of visits without cookies. Our server combines your IP address and browser name with a random value that is replaced every day and keeps only the resulting code. Your IP address and browser name are not stored, and because each day's random value is deleted the next day, the code cannot recognise you on another day or link your visits between our sites. With it we keep the page you opened, the name of the site that linked you (never the full address), any campaign tags in the link, and whether you clicked Buy; if you are signed in, a one-way code of your account, so a new account is counted once. Nothing is stored on your device for this. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how many people use the sites and what brings them.
• Device data: browser type, operating system, and screen resolution, used to ensure the site renders correctly.
• IP addresses: collected automatically by our hosting provider as part of standard server logging, and used, without being stored, to make the daily visitor code described above.

How we use your information

We use collected data solely to improve the site — understanding which content is most useful, identifying technical issues, and measuring overall traffic. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for analytics purposes. No personally identifiable cookies are set. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time; this will not affect your ability to use the site.

Third-party services

We use Vercel for hosting. Vercel collects standard server logs as part of its infrastructure. We may use a third-party analytics service to aggregate usage statistics. We use EmailOctopus to send email and Supabase to run accounts and sign-in. These services operate under their own privacy policies.

Email

We add your email address to our mailing list in two situations: when you enter it into a signup form on this site, and when you create an account. In both cases we use it to send new practice questions, pattern explanations and occasional news about the Tactics Book.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it stops all marketing email from us immediately. Unsubscribing does not close your account or affect your access to anything on the site. Emails needed to run your account, such as your sign-in link, are not marketing and are not affected.

We store your address, the page you signed up from, and whether you have bought the Tactics Book. That last one exists so we do not try to sell you something you already own. We do not sell or share your address, and deleting your account does not automatically remove you from the mailing list: unsubscribe, or ask us and we will remove you.

Social media integrations

We (the team operating MatrixReasoningTest.com) use third-party social media platforms — currently TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube — to publish and schedule our own content to our own official accounts, using internal automation tools that connect to those platforms. This is an internal operations tool: visitors to this website do not connect social accounts here, and we do not access any visitor's social media data. The points below explain how those tools handle data from the platforms.

• What the tools access: only the accounts we own or are authorized to manage — basic account profile information (such as account ID, name, and profile image) and permission to create and schedule posts on those accounts. We do not access private messages or unrelated personal content.
• How we use it: only to create, schedule, publish, and measure our own posts. We never use platform data for advertising, profiling, or resale.
• Access tokens: the tokens that authorize posting to our accounts are stored encrypted on our own server, are never sold or shared with third parties, and are used only to carry out our own posting.
• Retention: connection data and tokens are kept only while an account stays connected, and are removed when the account is disconnected or when deletion is requested.
• Revoking access: a connected account can be disconnected at any time from within our tools, and access can also be revoked directly in the security or app settings of TikTok, Meta, or Google.

Our use of information from these platforms complies with each platform's developer terms, including the Meta Platform Terms, the TikTok Developer Terms, and the Google API Services User Data Policy (including its Limited Use requirements). Data obtained through these APIs is used only for the features described above and is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with the law, or in connection with a business transfer under equivalent protections.

Data deletion

To request deletion of data associated with a connected social media account, disconnect the account within our tool or email us at hello@matrixreasoningtest.com. We will delete the associated tokens and data and confirm once complete.

Data retention

Server logs are retained for up to 30 days. Aggregated analytics data (with no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely to track long-term trends.

Your rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below.
