Before
- Do the five set checks in order, once. Where your score drops is where the form will slow you down, and that is the set to drill again.
- Sit the full form once, untimed, a few days before, and once more with a self-imposed forty minutes if your employer has mentioned a clock.
- Read the lesson on the Raven's you will actually meet. If the invitation is from an employer, the adaptive product is likelier than this booklet, and its items are the 3x3 shape of Sets C to E.
During
- Transformation or logic, first, on every 3x3. It is the one decision that cannot be skipped and the one most people skip.
- Sets A and B are not a warm-up to hurry through. Every item counts once, and the early ones are the cheapest points on the form.
- Eight options from Set C on. The wrong ones are built from the right ingredients in the wrong arrangement: check the arrangement, not the ingredients.
- Untimed means you may go back. Mark an item you are unsure of and return to it after the set rather than stalling on it.
The score
A raw score out of sixty and a percentile against a norm group; standard scores in the educational kit. No pass mark is published. The Plus edition exists because strong adults hit the ceiling of the Classic form; if your score on the full practice test is near the top, expect the real thing to feel harder than the practice, because the middle of C, D and E has been made harder.

It is not a Pearson product and uses none of Raven's items. Figures come from Pearson's own pages and the primary literature; where only third parties state a figure, the text says so.
